I am so grateful to Alexander Sladkovsky and TNSO for taking the time to come to Tambov at the Rachmaninoff Festival. I was lucky to listen from behind the curtains as the orchestra performed Tchaikovsky’s “Romeo and Juliet”, Rachmaninov and two encores - I enjoyed it a lot. Knowing Sladkovsky for a very long time and observing how the TNSO is growing, you can immediately understand how high the bar for the orchestra is set. And the musicians successfully cope with this - time after time, from performance to performance - the level of skill is growing significantly. Alexander Sladkovsky is a born leader and a very versatile person. I admire his managerial abilities and leadership skills - not everyone is given such qualities.
