Arman Tigranyan

Arman Tigranyan, whose childhood was spent in Russia and the United States, was passionate about learning music in an international context. Due to his unique ability to combine musical traditions and forms of expression of different countries and cultures, he is considered an outstanding representative of the young generation of conductors.



In the fall of 2013, at the music festival in Usedom (Germany), Tigranyan acted as assistant to the chief conductor of the German Central radio Symphony orchestra and the Baltic youth Symphony orchestra, Christian Jarvi. Since 2014, Armand has been a permanent assistant to Christian Jarvi at the Baltic youth Symphony orchestra. In the summer of 2012, Paavo and Neeme yarvi invited Arman Tigranyan to the famous yarvi Summer Academy for the first time at the pärnu music festival in Estonia. He was given the special honor of conducting part of the final concert at the lake music festival in Leigo, sharing the conducting console with Neeme yarvi. In 2013 and 2014, Arman Tigranyan was again invited to the yarvi Academy for the Parnu festival. Among the groups, which was conducted by Arman Tigranyan – The Russian national orchestra in Moscow, the Kharkiv Philharmonic orchestra in Kharkiv, the London Symphony orchestra of the Royal Academy, the Berlin Chamber orchestra, the West Saxony Symphony orchestra in Belen, the Freiburg academic orchestra of the Conservatory, the pärnu city orchestra, the Estonian youth national Symphony and Chamber orchestra in Estonia, the Baltic youth Symphony orchestra in Usedom (Germany), and the Varsovia Symphony orchestra, which Tigranyan conducted in October 2014 in one concert with Krzysztof Penderecki.

A native of Moscow, Arman Tigranyan began playing the violin under the guidance of his father Ashot Tigranyan, continuing his studies at the world-famous Central music school at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory. Shortly before the collapse of the Soviet Union, his family emigrated to the United States and settled in Los Angeles. Armand continued his violin studies in the class of Viktor Danchenko at the Peabody Conservatory, then studied with Jean Ter-Mergerian at the Marseille Conservatory and with Joseph Risin at the Karlsruhe Conservatory, where he graduated with honors in 2009. In the same year, Armand began studying conducting at the Freiburg Academy of Music. Since 2011, he has been studying the art of conducting at the renowned Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory under Professor Vladimir Ponkin. In addition to his education, Armand took part in master classes of world-famous conductors such as Neeme yarvi, Paavo yarvi, Gennady Rozhdestvensky, Jorma Panula, Vladimir Ponkin and Colin Meters.

In 2012, together with his friends in Karlsruhe, Arman Tigranyan founded the Camerata Armonia chamber orchestra and is currently its artistic Director. Arman Tigranyan successfully conducts active concert activities in Russia and abroad, and his extensive orchestral repertoire is represented by works of various eras and styles.
