Conductor Kalle Kuusamo became the winner of the European conductors competition in Oslo in 2013. In 2014, he won The international conductor competition. Svetlanova, which was held in Paris at the Pleyel concert hall.
Kalle Kuusava was born in 1983 in Lahti (Finland). He studied piano and chamber music first at the Lahti Conservatory and then at the Academy. Sibelius in Helsinki and at the Vienna University of music. In 2007, he was admitted to the prestigious Opera Studio in Zurich, where he was appointed to the position of teacher and conductor. Since 2008, he has been a member of the music group of the Norwegian national Opera in Oslo, where he has developed a wide Opera repertoire. Calle Kuusamo received a master's degree in orchestral conducting at Norwegian Academy of music. He participated in master classes of such conductors as Jukka-Pekka Saraste, Ivan Volkov and Jorma Panula.
Kalle's recent activities include a Gala ballet at the Norwegian national Opera, concerts with Kristiansund Sinfonietta, the Turku Philharmonic orchestra, and the Kuopio Philharmonic orchestra. At the Savonlinna international Opera festival, he conducted the operas don Juan, Lohengrin, Madame butterfly and Peter Grimes.
Among the upcoming works is the first performance with the State Symphony Orchestra of Tatarstan, the Ural Philharmonic Orchestra and the Quebec Symphony Orchestra.
