Russian conductor and professor of music. People’s artist of Russia, Honoured Artist of Russia (2002), People’s Artist of Russia (2011). Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Saint Petersburg State Academic Cappella Orchestra and the Leningrad Conservatory Musical Theatre (now the Saint Petersburg Theatre), conductor of the Mikhailovsky Theatre and the Chelyabinsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, professor of the Saint Petersburg Conservatory.
