Russian conductor, professor of music. Chief conductor of the Saint Petersburg State Academic Symphony Orchestra and the Rostov Academic Symphony Orchestra, People’s Artist of Russia. He was Artistic Director of the State Symphony Orchestra of the Tatar SSR until 1979.
